MPP power conduit is also known as MPP cable conduit or MPP power cable protection conduit.

The raw material primarily consists of PP powder (modified polypropylene) as the base compound.

Connection method: Use a welding machine for hot-melt butt welding; the welding temperature should be approximately 200°C and must not exceed 220°C. Once the required temperature is reached, join both ends together. (Since MPP pipes are connected using hot-melt welding, poor welding quality may damage the cable or cause it to become flattened; therefore, MPP power conduits must be manufactured from brand-new material.)

Product color: The MPP power cable is orange-red.

Product length: Typically 6 meters per piece; for clients with large order volumes, to reduce costs (including freight and welding fees), the length can be adjusted to between 6–13 meters per piece.

1. Visual inspection acceptance criteria before and after removal of PE hot-melt butt-joint flanging

I. Non-removal of flange (external rolling edge)-Compliance Assessment

Qualified flanging feature:

(1)The entire circumferential flange is smooth and full, with uniform dimensions and continuous, uninterrupted surface, forming a gentle circular protrusion;

(2)The flanging width is essentially uniform on both sides; there are no local bulges, no fine cracks, and no blackening or carbonization;

(3)The flange transitions naturally to the pipe wall body without any noticeable suspended or layered gaps.

Note: Meeting the external flanging appearance requirements is merely a basic requirement; the critical aspect of acceptance inspection is to remove the flanging and examine the bevel cross-section.

External flanging non-compliance (direct rejection):

(1)Significant variation in flange width, localized material shortages or edge discontinuities (insufficient heat absorption / insufficient butt welding pressure);

(2)Local blistering, blackening or burning (due to excessive heating temperature or prolonged heat absorption);

(3)The flange is suspended and raised; a gap exists between the flange and the pipe wall (due to misalignment or trapped impurities).

II. Acceptance Criteria for After-Flanging (Joint Cross-Section) (Key)

Acceptable cross-section

The joint cross-section exhibits dense fusion with no cracks, no porosity, no layering or interlayering, and no impurity black spots;

The PE base material and the fusion zone are seamlessly integrated, with no distinct boundary line;

The bevel edge is smoothly machined; the base material pipe wall shows no scratches or chipping caused by the cutting tools.

Non-conforming cross-sections (four common defects; weld rework required)
Layered cracking: The presence of interlayers or cracks in the cross-section indicates a low heat-melting temperature or insufficient pressure, resulting in incomplete fusion; when water is introduced, this condition makes the structure highly susceptible to cracking and leakage;
Pore formation: The cross-section is filled with fine pinholes or voids → the pipe contains moisture, the environment is humid, or heating has introduced water vapor;
Carbonized coke particles: black spots or coke residues on the cross-section – indicating excessive heating temperature; PE material has undergone aging and carbonization, resulting in high weld toughness;
Single-sided fusion: one side has a deep fusion while the other side shows almost no fusion → the two pipes are joined with misalignment or excessive edge offset.

III. Supporting Construction Technical Specifications

Edge trimming must be performed using a dedicated hot-melt edge-trimming tool with uniform circular cutting at constant speed; the use of chisels or cutting machines for rough removal is prohibited to avoid scratching the base material.

Upon completion of edge trimming, take a photograph promptly for record-keeping as documentation for concealed works and pressure testing acceptance;

The acceptance criteria for gas PE pipelines are more stringent than those for water supply pipelines; any non-compliant welds must be removed and re-welded; repair work is strictly prohibited.

Compared to traditional piping materials, HDPE drainage pipes offer several distinct advantages. 

What are the advantages of HDPE drainage pipes?
1. Reliable connection: Polyethylene pipeline systems are connected using the electric thermal fusion method; the strength of the joints exceeds the strength of the pipeline body itself.
2. Excellent low-temperature impact resistance: Polyethylene has an extremely low low-temperature embrittlement temperature, allowing for safe use across a temperature range of –60°C to 60°C. During winter construction, the material's superior impact resistance prevents pipe fracture or cracking.
3. Excellent resistance to stress cracking: HDPE exhibits low notch sensitivity, high shear strength, and outstanding scratch resistance; its resistance to environmental stress cracking is also particularly remarkable.
4. Excellent chemical corrosion resistance: HDPE pipes are resistant to corrosion caused by a wide range of chemical substances; the chemicals present in the soil do not cause any degradation to the pipes. Polyethylene is an electrical insulator; therefore, it does not undergo decay, rusting, or electrochemical corrosion; furthermore, it does not promote the growth of algae, bacteria, or fungi.
5. High weather resistance and long service life: Polyethylene pipes containing 2–2.5% uniformly distributed carbon black can be stored or used outdoors for up to 50 years without being damaged by ultraviolet radiation.
6. Excellent wear resistance: A comparative wear resistance test between HDPE pipes and steel pipes demonstrates that the wear resistance of HDPE pipes is four times that of steel pipes.
